Paint the Distance Away

Your 2-minute-a-week shortcut to
always having awesome gift ideas well in advance.
Greetings Gift-Givers!
Hi gift-givers! Today we share a gift idea that will allow your love to cover more distance than a toddler chasing bubbles.
To celebrate 100 straight weeks of putting out a Better Gift Coach edition, I’m going to take a month off of writing the newsletter!
As mentioned last week, today’s edition will be my last edition before my break.
During my break, I’d be excited to receive new gift stories from you. Submit your stories here.
In case you need some graduation gift inspiration while I’m on break:
🎁 Making gift cards fun
🎁 A lifetime of book recommendations
🎁 Grad gifts for zombie apocalypse...or just adulthood
I was also recently featured as a gift expert in this Real Simple piece The 40 Best Father’s Day Gifts of 2024.
Thank you all for subscribing and supporting the newsletter!!
Gift idea time! Here’s a story of a
great gift to spark your creativity
The “virtual bonding experience" Gift:
One of the most meaningful gifts that I received was a virtual "Let's paint together" in a box from my long distance niece. I think it said, "Just add wine". The package arrived with a canvas, paints and a really nice card. I think it also had a wine glass. Inside the card it told me to pick a date. So we did and we "got together" over a Zoom call and painted and showed each other our work as we went along and of course we chatted through the whole thing.
Brainstorming your version of this gift
General tips/guidance for virtual bonding experience gifts:
Plan ahead!
These make great one-on-one gifts, but also group gifts
Just like in Karen’s gift story, consider opportunity to provide kits/supplies to take that burden off of them
Alternative virtual shared experience gifts:
Virtual Mixology Class (see YouTube videos)
Virtual Craft Workshop (get craft kits at craft stores)
Virtual Wine Tasting (check out In Good Taste Wines, Vinebox)
Virtual Cooking and Baking Class (check out Cozymeal, Cuiline)
Virtual Game Night (check out Jackbox Games, PlayingCards.io)
Virtual Escape Room (check out The Escape Game, Mystery Escape Room)
Virtual Trivia Night (simply watch Jeopardy together, see The “personalized group trivia" Gift)
