Wedding guests sitting on a gift goldmine

My attempt to make you smile
before getting to today’s gift ideas
Hi gift-givers! Every time you read this newsletter, I’m hoping you’re being introduced to gift ideas that you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Gift ideas keeping you awake? Me too…
One-ish more thing(s)
before today’s gift ideas
For the first time ever, we are going to feature a story of the greatest gifts ever given from someone outside the USA. We’re going international, folks! Today’s story comes from Wendy, a subscriber from the friendly and maple-syrupy country to the north, beautiful Canada. Thanks, Wendy!
Estimated read time: 2 minutes & 38 seconds
Gift idea time! Here’s a story of a
great gift to spark your creativity
The “Wedding Art’nt You Grateful You Invited Me?" Gift:
My friend’s wedding bouquet was beautiful…and my attempt to capture the memory of its beauty led me to one of the best gifts I’ve ever given. After attending my friend’s wedding, I commissioned an artist to paint my friend’s wedding bouquet - the artist did an amazing job - very beautiful - and they loved it!!!

Why this gift is great
Unique, thoughtful, personalized
Safe bet that this gift will be enjoyed
This gift gets better with age (nostalgia is powerful)
Paintings of bouquets are much safer than human portraits

Wedding portraits can be risky, but caricatures can be funny (source caricature24.com)
Brainstorming your version of this gift
Wedding art objects other than the bouquet:
Wedding portrait (although this is risky…see above)
BGC Wedding Art Gift Playbook:
Take your own photo of an aspect of the wedding that you’d like to turn into art (or wait until the newlyweds share professional photos)
Hire an artist or create the artwork yourself (see below for helpful ideas/links)
What! Only 2 steps!?….Yup.
Ways to get the painting created:
Find a local artist
Mobile apps (e.g. free OilPaintMyPhoto app) can turn your photos into watercolor paintings
Paint it yourself…with some help – there are online services that convert your photos into a paint-by-number kit (if anyone follows through on this gift, I must know…this would be so cool)
Other post-wedding flower gifts ideas (can use the bouquet or table centerpiece):
Recreate a wedding bouquet fake flowers or real ones (hello, amazing anniversary gift idea! Check out Paperversary stories on Paper Rose Co.)
Here’s another gift wedding guests should keep in their back pocket for a future occasion:🎁 Wedding crashers vs wedding (gift) stashers
🚨Warning! When gifting artwork or home decor, you may want first to get the approval of the recipient to ensure they want the item and have the room to accommodate it. At the very least, stick to items that don’t take up much space.

For Mother’s Day my 3 daughters who had asked me for months for the recipes for their favorite dishes I’d cook, made me a cookbook with pictures of the foods & us. Made from one of the online photo album companies like Shutterfly and they saved $$ with Groupon or a special discount. Win-Win! - Joan from Ohio
