THE GIFT STORY
šTHE GIFT:
The āletās stay connected each month" Gift
My Godtwins, now 12, are overwhelmed with gifts from their parents and grandparents and other relatives at birthdays and holidays. I wanted to give them something that wasnāt ālost in the shuffle.ā So a few years ago I enrolled them in (made up) the āFairy Godmother Book of the Month Club.ā I sent them surveys about their interests, what their favorite subjects were, what they like to do, who their favorite authors and series were. Each month I send them each a book. They love getting them. Their mother insists it has cemented their love of reading. And it really helps us stay connected even though I only get to see them once or twice a year.

Gift traditions are awesome (see other tradition-worthy gifts)
Similar to the custom advent calendar gift idea, allows for a selection curated to personal preferences (vs made-to-order one-size-fits-all book of the month options)
MAKE THIS GIFT YOUR OWN
š”TIPS FOR YOUR GIFT:
This email celebrates the value that the enhanced personalization & effort of a make-your-own ā___ of the monthā gift idea deliver, but out-of-the-box subscriptions also make great gifts (see š Nurture a relationship on autopilot).

A make-your-own book of the month club is AWESOME and you could follow Stephanieās blueprint for success, but the concept can also be applied to items other than books.
When creating your own ā____ of the month clubā:
Consider items related to your recipientās hobbies
Might want to survey for preferences (great idea, Stephanie)
Doesnāt have to be monthly (can be annually, quarterly, etc.)
Can stock up on inventory all at one time and then send them individually
