Who wants to hear the story of the best gift that I’ve ever received?
Listen to my guest appearance on Nonprofit Nation Podcast. The host, the amazing Julia Campbell, is a Better Gift Coach subscriber who reached out to me with an invite to join her on her podcast for a delightful conversation. THE GIFT STORY
🎁THE GIFT:
The “always-on-hand" Gift
Gone are the days of us finding time to rush to a store on the way to a friend's house to pick out a last-minute gift. These days, my wife strategically stocks up on Hazelmade Tea Towels so we always have at least one set on-hand that can just be dropped into a gift bag at a moment’s notice. They have been reliable go-to gifts for housewarmings, dinner parties, and even birthday celebrations.

🌮 WHY THIS GIFT IS GREAT:
Saves time and headaches
Last-minute gift that doesn’t feel so last minute
In general, tasteful hand towels are universally useful and appreciated
MAKE THIS GIFT YOUR OWN

#giftgivinggoals
💡TIPS FOR YOUR GIFT:
Appropriate always-on-hand gifts are universally:
🟢Useful
🟢Agreeable
🟢Appreciated
Likely ill-advised always-on-hand gift items:
🔴Artwork
🔴Decor
🔴Clothing
🔴Beauty products
Generally wise always-on-hand gift suggestions:
Tea/kitchen towels (trust me, works every time!)
Gift cards (here’s how to make them fun)
Pet treats (the way to anyone’s heart is through their pet)
Fun refrigerator magnets (e.g. mini succulents, llama clips, and more)
Pot holders (a tea towel’s insulated cousin, go with universally agreeable prints)
Burp towels sets (new parents can NEVER have enough, go for the ones in their own packaging)
Food/drink items as always-on-hand gifts suggestions:
Wine
Ready-to-bake frozen cookies (here’s a recipe)
Hot cocoa in a jar kit (great for holiday season)
Bake-ahead-then-freeze desserts and appetizers
Chocolates or popular candy (sometimes a 4 piece is all you need to not show up empty-handed)
Other tips:
Wait for sales to stock up!
Have greeting cards for all occasions on-hand (here’s the variety pack that we have)
It’s even easier on you if the item comes pre-wrapped or already nicely presented
Sneaky Better Gift Coach Tips:
When traveling, pick up extra souvenirs to have as always-on-hand gifts (they come with a story and likely appear more thoughtful)
If you’re crafty, DIY gifts likely appear extra thoughtful (even if you just make a stockpile of them without any particular gift recipient in-mind)
