The “cue the happy tears song" Gift:
As the holidays approached, Jan thought long and hard about how to surprise her boyfriend who pretty much already has everything he could want. She downloaded her Songfinch [commissioned song about him] to Amazon Music and had Alexa play it for him through their Amazon Echo speaker on Christmas morning. For the first time since she has known him, he was left speechless.

P.S. Did you know "Danny's Song" was written by Kenny Loggins, as a gift for his brother Danny for the birth of his son. I’m not guaranteeing you that you will write the next Danny’s Song…but I’m not going to say that it’s not possible…
Subscribers putting BGC
tips into action
Have you been inspired by a gift idea or tip shared in the BGC newsletter? It would be the highlight of my week to hear from you about it! Here’s who made my week:
Karlyn, a BGC subscriber, recently took me up on my offer to help brainstorm anniversary gifts for her husband. Along with some gift ideas, I offered her some advice that I think anyone should keep in mind when considering anniversary gifts.
Personally, I think anniversary gifts should be gifts for the relationship and not just for individuals. Birthdays and Christmas gifts are more appropriate occasions to give gifts that are geared more toward directly benefiting an individual (versus benefiting a relationship).
Karlyn made my day…week…maybe my whole month…by replying back with the following feedback:
I really appreciated that you pointed out the distinction between individual-focused gifts & their respective occasions vs. relationship-focused gifts. That really helped me narrow down the type of gift I wanted to aim for.
I can't thank you enough for your ideas and your help!! I look forward to the Better Gift Coach emails every week and my Christmas list is already chock full of good ideas I feel like I can actually make happen. For the first time ever in my life, I think I'm actually looking forward to the gift-giving season!
